Dogs have always been loyal hunting companions, as they were originally also bred for exactly this purpose. However, selection has produced countless different hunting dog breeds over the last centuries. Each breed has its own specific purpose, but they all have one thing in common – they are indispensable helpers at hunting. A dog not only supports us in searching for or retrieving an animal, but also in helping us to track down the animal more quickly, which makes hunting more efficient and sustainable. A hunting dog is also an example for a respectful and close relationship between human and animal as it is lived and maintained in hunting.
